And “Touchdown Jesus” Wept
With an outstanding loss to Michigan today Notre Dame has confirmed my suspension that they have been ranked way too high this season. I won’t deny that they have the potential to be a good team, but they are not playing how a so-claimed potential championship team should play. Three games in they’ve had two games where the offense didn’t show up to play and one where the defense took the day off as well.
So my prediction for the Purdue game in two weeks is that if both Notre Dame’s offense & defense take the day off it will be a three point win for the Irish. If both offense & defense show up to play, I predict a two touchdown win for the Irish. And from what Purdue has shown this year, a performance like either scenario might as well be a loss for the Irish.
(For the sake of my Boilers, I hope that I’m wrong, but they’ve shown nothing to suggest otherwise. The Oaken Bucket game should be a good one this year.)
